The Planting Consultancy is owned by Carol O’Sullivan, an experienced Horticulturist and Landscape Designer.
Carol qualified as a Horticulturist in the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland having completed a MSc (Agr.) in Environmental Resource Management in UCD. Carol’s career in Horticulture has led her to work in the USA, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and in ‘Illnacullin’, Garinish Island (OPW) and with private clients in Ireland.
With a keen interest in the therapeutic benefits of gardening, Carol taught Horticulture in the disability training sector and went on to develop this interest further and obtained an M.A. in Disability Studies from the University of Leeds. Carol continued to teach in the rehabilitative training sector, with a focus on mental health recovery.
It is her passion for nature and the belief in the positive impacts that thoughtful planting can bring to individuals and our environment that brought Carol back to work once again with plants on a professional basis. It is her unique experience that distinguishes Carol’s approach to planting and landscape design.
