Actionable Advice

Planting Design Advice
Carol gives many design tips during a consultation. For example in relation to planting:
- Choose plants that compliment each other in colour, size, and growth habits to create a harmonious look.
- Plant densely. There is nothing worse than waiting for years for perennials to fill in and combating unwanted plants for years.
- Repeat plants. The best way to create a harmonious look in your garden is to repeat some of the same plant species.

Consider the Functional
During a garden consultation Carol will also discuss the more functional elements of a garden. For example:
Water Features: Adding a pond or fountain can create a peaceful ambiance and attract wildlife.
Garden Furniture: Including comfortable seating areas will encourage you to spend more time outdoors.
Lighting: Install dark skies outdoor lighting to extend the usability of the garden during the evening and highlight key features.
Ultimately, the best garden design balances aesthetics with functionality, creating a space that is not only beautiful but also practical for daily use.
What my client said...
So pleased I took your advice. Looking forward to it maturing and providing plenty of interest for the bees and the wildlife.... Thanks for all your suggestions. The big borders and loss of the lawn was a risk definitely worth taking. Gráinne, Ballincollig, Cork
